Three years ago, I noticed something happening in the Embassy community. Many women were making the decision NOT to go back to their ‘pre-kids’ jobs, and instead, taking the brave leap to follow their dreams.

Some became Kangatraining Instructors.

Some started selling their arts and crafts.

Some decided to branch out, in their line of work, but self-employed.

And ALL of them were using Social Media as a way to get their business in front of people’s eyes.

And why not, it’s the most accessible, affordable, inclusive form of advertising there is!”

And I had a brainwave . .

What if I created a separate space, exclusively for the members of Embassy who were self-employed. What if we had a space to share the ups and down of business life, and what if, I could use my ten years of social media experience, and the platform I am grateful to have, to empower and uplift these women as they followed their dreams.

And so Empire was born.
